PM Modi Encourages Youngsters to Participate in NICE-23 Crossword Contest - ImHindi

If you are a crossword enthusiast and a college student, you have a chance to showcase your skills and win prizes in the National Inter College Crossword Expedition 2023 (NICE-23), a national-level contest organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with AICTE and UGC.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed his interest in the contest and urged youngsters to participate. In a tweet, he said, “This is something that would interest youngsters, particularly crossword enthusiasts.”

NICE-23 is open to students of all recognized colleges and universities in the country. Eligible students can register for the contest at www.crypticsingh.com. Registration is free and will be open till March 31, 2023. Those students who had registered for NICE-22 and are still studying, don’t need to register afresh. They will be allotted fresh passwords for 2023.

How to Register for NICE-23 (National Crossword Contest)

To register for NICE-23, follow these steps:

1. Visit https://nice.crypticsingh.com/register
2. Fill in your name, email, college name, and other details
3. Submit your registration and note down your username and password
4. Use your username and password to log in for the online rounds

The contest will have three online rounds and a grand finale. The first online round will be held on April 4, 2023, followed by the second round on April 11, 2023, and the third round on April 18, 2023. The top 16 teams from each zone (North, South, East, West and Central) will qualify for the grand finale, which will be held in New Delhi on May 15, 2023.2

The winners of the grand finale will receive cash prizes, trophies and certificates. The runners-up and the third-placed teams will also get cash prizes and certificates. All the participants of the online rounds will get e-certificates.

The contest aims to promote crossword solving among college students and enhance their vocabulary, logical thinking, and general awareness. It also provides an opportunity for students to interact with crossword experts and learn from them.

Colleges and universities with over 100 registrants for NICE-23 till March 31, will get a ‘NICE Roll of Honour’ certificate and 10 crossword books from the organizers. The institutions with the highest registrations, as on March 31, 2023, in each of the five zones will receive a ‘NICE Institution’ plaque, a certificate and 100 crossword books.
